Warrior+ is a good mod.

This mod causes every projectile, NPC, and player to explode when they die, destroying a varying radius of blocks, which damage both players and NPCs. The explosion radius scales with expert mode and hardmode, and bosses and players have larger explosions which do more damage. Projectile, NPC, and player explosions can all be configured.

Due to the different dimensions of some of the sprites, the hitbox may not coincide with the sprite. In particular, aim for the body, not the head.
